RotaCare Free Medical
Clinic
Davis Street Family
Resource Center’s RotaCare Free Acute Clinic serves over 1,000
uninsured and underinsured people each year. Over 60% are children.
The RotaCare
Clinic
is staffed entirely by volunteer doctors, nurses, pharmacists,
physical therapists and social workers to provide quality, essential
acute care to individuals who otherwise would not be able to access
adequate health care.
Since
we opened the doors of the clinic in 1995, thousands of local adults
and children have had access to free acute medical care and
medications. From immunizations to direct treatment, we provide
quality care to those with the most need. From patients presenting
with asthmatic symptoms and earaches to those with cold/flu symptoms
and hypertension, our services help hundreds each year.
Volunteers of the Rotary
Club of San Leandro built the original clinic. The original seed
money has been leveraged many times over allowing us to grow the
services these past 9 years.
Today, the Rotary Club of San
Leandro, Dr. Jack Goodrich and with funding from Tom Kroetch, a long
time supporter of the medical clinic and the Braddock Foundation are
in the final phase of building the new Free and Low Cost Dental
Clinic. This new
endeavor is the brainchild of Davis Street board member, Dr. Jack
Goodrich and is the San Leandro Rotary’s centennial project for the
2003-2005 period. The dental clinic is now offering free and low
cost,
acute dental care to adults. We invite you
to visit, to donate and to volunteer.
