Davis Street helps needy families with tax preparation!!!! February 1st 2005, Davis Street Family Resource

Center in collaboration with Alameda County and the United Way of the Bay Area, launched our third annual

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA). In previous years we have been able to help many families

file for their income tax and receive credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and the

Childcare Tax Credit, which amounts to a sizable return for most of our clients who received this service.

In addition, we have invited the banking community to offer checking and savings accounts to our clients as

well as one on one financial advisement during the VITA program hours. Our volunteer income tax assistance

services are free of charge and are open to the community on a walk in basis. For more information about
